There’s a lot of hullabaloo about Santorini. Can you believe that hullabaloo is an actual word? Santorini may be the most photographed island of the Cyclades, and for good reason. White washed buildings and blue domes, overlooking the Aegean Sea…what’s not to love? While I wasn’t quite as impressed with Santorini, the way I was with Mykonos or Hydra, it has a lot going for it. I enjoyed the sunsets on Santorini more than on Mykonos but I did not enjoy being so far away from the sea. It’s a gorgeous view from up above, but I would prefer to be close enough to put my feet in the water.
All of our food was delicious in Santorini, and I tried Vinsanto wine at the Santo Winery, which was a part of a day tour the we took. I think the tour was one of the best decisions that we made on our trip. We were able to visit the red and black beaches, a monastery, a winery and take a tour of the Akrotiri site, which was super interesting. This was the last day in the islands and it was a good change of pace after relaxing for a week.
