It was a bit chilly on Saturday morning, for October. Considering it snowed the night before, you couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful wedding day. The sun was shining and there was no sign of rain or snow on the radar. The day started out at the Delphi Opera House, before heading to Saint Josephs, for the ceremony, and Coyote Crossing for the reception. I had been to the opera house, once before, last summer, to shoot a wedding. I thought it was a brilliant idea to rent it out for getting ready. It has two nice sized dressing rooms, that the girls were able to utilize for hair and makeup. As Lauren, from Lola Hair Artistry and Jodi, from Momichelle, did their thing, I headed over with the videographers, to check on the boys.
Brittany’s uncle owns a shoe store, the next building over from the opera house. The guys decided to get ready there, where they could have a few beers and relax. I have to admit, that I never imagined getting ready for a wedding in a shoe shop, but it was really cool! Once Ben was ready, we took him to the third floor of the opera house, where he opened a present from Brittany. Once he was all ready for the first look, we joined the finishing touches of hair and makeup, and Brittany got dressed. I want to point out, that I randomly saw Britt picking songs on her phone, and I took a quick shot of what her song selection was. I had no idea, that the song would be a significant part of the evening, when Brittany sang it on the dance floor of the reception!
We had originally planned on doing the first look in the theatre at the opera house, but it was set up for a production, later that evening. We switched ideas at the last minute, and shot in the lobby. It was about time for the ceremony to start, so we headed over to Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church. It’s an adorable little church, built in 1861, and I loved checking out all of the detail.
After the ceremony, we shot a little bit in downtown Delphi, before heading to West Lafayette, for pictures at Coyote Crossing Golf Club, before heading into the reception. We took a few group shots before Britt, Ben, Clark Videography, and I headed out on the links to do bridals. Henry and Shawn were fun to work with, and we were able to capture a little fall color, in a few places on the course.
Then we partied. Thanks to the staff at Coyote Crossing and the DJ’s, Velocity Sound, everything went perfectly and it was an amazing night.
