Back in April, I headed to Washington D.C., to photograph Jen and Chris for a Chapter One engagement session. If you haven’t seen that, you can find it HERE They decided to get married in the midwest though, closer to a lot of their family and friends. This is the first time that I have shot a Tribune Tower Chicago Wedding, but the place is gorgeous, and despite the insane heat, it was a fantastic day! So many cool things happened that day. Most importantly, these two wonderful human beings got married!
As I’ve mentioned before, Jen has been an officiant in two other weddings that I have photographed, so it was super cool that both of those couples were at this wedding too! Since their circle of friends, intermingle a bit, I actually knew a good handful of guests as well. I won’t bore you with all of the bloody details, but this was also the first weekend that I shot entirely with Fuji gear, and I am so glad that I have finally made the switch. Their engagement session, was the first time that I really started leaning heavily on my Fuji equipment, so it only made since that I made the jump for this wedding.
It seems to be the trend, this summer, but the temperature was brutal, so we didn’t get a lot of time to spend out in the city. We basically, walked about half a block, before we called it quits, and went back inside of the Chicgao Tribune and Howells and Hood, to cool back down before the ceremony. The rest of the day was perfect, and I want to give a shoutout to Bitsy, who did a terrific job officiating. Thanks to Jen and Chris for inviting me a long, but I’m afraid you might be running out of friends that need to get married, so what will I do now!?!?!
